Wellcome Sanger Institute

The Wellcome Sanger Institute is a leading genomics and genetics research institute tackling some of the most difficult challenges in genomic research. Employing over 1,200 people from 70+ nationalities, their mission is to apply and explore genomic technologies at scale to advance understanding of biology and improve health. They are primarily funded by the Wellcome Trust.

Wellcome Sanger Institute joined Science Council’s Employer Champion programme on 19th July 2023. They also have Athena SWAN Silver award status.
