2023 Celebration of Science

The 2023 Celebration of Science is taking place on 15 November 2023, 17:00-20:30.

The event is taking place at the fantastic Thinktank, an award-winning Birmingham Science Museum.

  • Keynote: We’re delighted to be welcoming Dr Becky Smethurst as the keynote speaker. Dr Becky Smethurst is an astrophysicist, author, science communicator and Royal Astronomical Society Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. She has been awarded numerous prizes for her research and science communication efforts in recent years. In her keynote, Dr Smethurst will offer a unique perspective on combining being a science communicator with being an active researcher.
  • Celebrations: We will be taking the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of CPD Award winners, recognize volunteers and applaud apprentices and their journey.
  • Networking: The event will be followed by a networking reception with the opportunity to connect with fellow registrants from across the science disciplines, as well as individuals from the professional body community, industry, academia and government.

Tickets are FREE and includes complimentary access (usually £15.50) to the Thinktank galleries during the hours of 09:00-17:00 on 15 November.
