Engineering Council
The Science Council works closely with the Engineering Council on joint licensing for professional bodies that support both scientists and engineers, as well as other initiatives to promote STEM careers and professions.
Society for the Environment
The Science Council also works with the Society for the Environment on joint licensing for professional bodies for environmental scientists.
STEMM Disability Advisory Committee
The Science Council is a member of the STEMM Disability Advisory Committee (DAC). STEMM DAC is a collaboration of professional bodies, learned societies and charities aiming to strengthen the inclusion of people with disabilities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine (STEMM).
Along with several of the Science Council’s own member organisations, members of STEMM-DAC include the Campaign for Science and Engineering, the General Medical Council, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society and the Wellcome Trust.
EngTechNow
The Science Council works with EngTechNow to encourage technicians across the UK to become professionally registered.
HEaTED
The Science Council works with HEaTED (Higher Education and Technicians Educational Development) to support and promote the skills and roles of technical staff in higher education institutions.
unionlearn
In 2014, the Science Council signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with unionlearn to improve the status and recognition of science technicians.
Vitae
The Science Council is a signatory to the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers. The Concordat is an agreement between funders and employers of researchers in the UK, including those employed in technical and professional roles.
