"Professional registration has given me back the confidence I had lost over the years and to actually believe in myself."
Raising awareness of my profession
I applied to become a Registered Science Technician to raise awareness of exactly what a science technician does, how important their work is and how much they are depended on. I want to promote how amazing science technicians really are and the work they do behind the scenes.
Giving me back my confidence
Professional registration has given me back the confidence I had lost over the years and to actually believe in myself. Science is magical, especially chemistry. I get an adrenalin rush whenever a practical actually works; this might sound odd but I never quite believe it will work – and it does.
I am excited by chemistry and this is the leading factor why I love the job as well as having a passion for health and safety in school science.
Why you should consider professional registration
If you have low self-esteem within your role I can guarantee becoming registered gives you an uplift and makes you feel like someone.
I would like to advise anyone thinking of applying to become a Registered Science Technician to go for it sooner rather than later; this will help to promote our profession even further.
