We have around 1000 members and are affiliated to the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC)
The main object of the Society is to advance the science of cosmetics. It does this by attracting membership among highly qualified individuals with both academic and industrial experience in the field of cosmetics and related sciences, as well as through its activities including publications, educational programmes and scientific meetings.
As a not-for-profit organisation we are governed by our SCS Council, the decision-making who are made up of 9 ordinary members of the Society and 5 Officers of the Society who are all elected by Full Members of the Society.
THE SOCIETY IS MADE UP OF A COUNCIL WHICH CONSISTS OF:President, Immediate Past President, Vice-President, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, and at least nine ordinary members. The policies formed by the Council are supported by active committees:
General Purposes, Scientific Programmes, Education, Membership, International Journal, Publicity and Recruitment, Social and the Regional Development Groups
SCS membership is made up of individual members who are either working in the cosmetic science industry or are involved in an allied industry.
