Chartered Week 2026 saw the Science Council join the Chartered community in a celebration of the people and organisations, that are raising the standards of competence and ethics across society.
The week kicked off with the publication of an open letter to the UK Government calling on them to champion registration and Chartered status. We joined over 40 organisations, with a combined membership of over 1.5 million people, in signing it. Professional registration demands a commitment to integrity, high ethical standards and public accountability from its registrants which lend to building trust in public services. During the week, we also showcased our talented community and our professional registration pathways. James McCormick, a senior professional in regulatory affairs and member of The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs, reflected on his journey through professional registration and the positive impact it has had on his career. You can read about James’s experience here.
“Achieving professional registration has strengthened my professional confidence and reinforced my standing as a scientific leader within regulatory affairs. It has provided additional credibility when engaging with senior stakeholders, regulators and global clients, particularly in complex areas such as vaccines, advanced therapies and conditional approvals.” – James McCormick
It has been fantastic to see the support and positive stories shared by our Members and the wider Chartered community throughout the week. Thank you to everyone who got involved. We look forward to Chartered Week returning in 2027!
