Progression Framework Benchmarking Reports

Every four years, the Science Council produces benchmarking reports with our members to give an overview of how science professional bodies are delivering on a diverse and inclusive profession, using the Progression Framework tool.

2025 Progression Framework Benchmarking

The 2025 benchmarking exercise for science and engineering is the result of collaborative work between the Science Council and its members, and the  Royal Academy of Engineering and professional engineering institutions. It has assessed progress since the last benchmarking exercise in 2021 and highlights several important findings that our community will use to drive further change.

We have produced three reports covering the science sector, engineering sector and a combined report.
